My life experiences inspire my art. I often paint in response to surroundings or landscape. The content of my work is very simple: I am inspired by my love of gardening and nature. As I create a painting, certain feelings and thoughts are always present. It could be the beauty of one cloud or a heavy fog on the bay, or just the evening light drifting between Fairhaven buildings.

It is enjoyable to paint atmosphere with passages within the painting, which viewers can interpret as they wish. Thus they become more personally involved with what they see before them.

Color and composition are integral to my paintings and I work with acrylics and oils layering or using brush strokes to reach desired effects. I have been influence by many painters but particularly appreciate work of Edgar Degas, Pierre Bonnard and Gustav Klimt.
